About

Ok, so what does this even mean? Why does this website sound like a very strange version of MASH? And what does shack’s advocate have to do with anything?

Well, to begin with, we love metaphors. You will notice this especially in any articles written by Kat Reysen. So, anyway, one day we got on a crazy wild metaphor tangent and came up with the four distinct places as metaphors for our current relationship statuses. We decided to apply this to our blog.

So here is the breakdown of how we organize our little world.

The Ditch

Weirdly when you search "ditch" you get a lot of nice looking scenic views, so I went with this trash bag to be safe

In the ditch you will find ALL the advice, from relationships to finance, to anything in between. Being in a ditch is tough, but it’s also a good time for you to get to know yourself and travel with wild abandon.

The Shack

Home sweet home
Home sweet home

In the shack lives all of our TV and Movie talk, and help when you’re not all the way down but on your way out. Because hey, you’re in between and that’s ok and also a great time to start getting really cool music and/or Pokemon.

The Cabin

You are more or less settled down and it’s time to talk politics, learn about science, discuss the state of the education system, and really vent. This is a good time for personal stories, struggles, and triumphs and to pay attention to what is going on around you.

The Houseboat

Ok, so this is a showboat, but if you are a character in the musical "Showboat" this would be your house

Want to eat cake on our luxury yacht? Come hob nob with the fancies and talk fashion, fancy cocktails, party planning, crafts, and recipes! Because here you are, you made it to the open sea!

And that’s it. A little confusing, but we call it home. If you have any questions for the authors, you can email us all at shacksadvocate@gmail.com.
